Stan Bisson's <body onLoad> Workaround >>>

When working with SiteBuilder, not all JavaScripts and DHTML scripts deal nicely with it because you do not have access to parts of the page's code. So, these workarounds are a necessary evil.

This workaround was created by Stan Bisson who, in the early 2000's, helped members in the forums when the forums were at Homestead. He was very nice and helpful to everyone there, and a gentleman and good friend to me. He lost his life in 2009 after a long illness. Miss you, mon ami.

1) For scripts requiring a body onLoad event handler, such as in the example below, make the following changes. The part in boldface below would normally be added to your body tag, which would likely contain tags for background color and/ or background image and link colors. Instead, when working with SiteBuilder, use the img tag adding the boldface part as in the second example below.

<body onLoad="makesnake()" style="width:100%;overflow-x:hidden;overflow-y:scroll">

<img src="/tp.gif" width="1px" height="1px" onLoad="makesnake()" style="width:100%;overflow-x:hidden;overflow-y:scroll">

The image graphic, tp.gif, is used as a spacer in SiteBuilder and is an existing part of your webpage.

2) For scripts containing window onLoad event handlers that don't seem to be working with Sitebuilder, add the following in a separate Insert HTML Element or the same Insert HTML Element as the script, separated by a line of space. Replace what's in red below with whatever follows onload=.

<img src="/tp.gif" height="1" width="1" onload="fall()">
